Sarabjit's death abject failure of Pakistan: Tewari
On the night Of 28th August 1990 Sarabjit Was arrested under the name
MANJIT SINGH in the Khalra Border Sector by Pakistani Rangers. He was
tried and convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for spying and
series of bomb attacks in Lahore & Faisalabad in 1990, that killed
14 bystanders. After a brief trial he was Sentenced to Death in 1991,
which was repeatedly postponed by the Government of Pakistan and his 5
Mercy Petitions were rejected by the Courts and President Of Pakistan.
Sarabjit's family believed that his arrest was a case of Mistaken
Identity and he was just a Farmer who strayed of the border. Family's
attempt to bring Sarabjit back to India continuously failed, until he
was attacked and beaten brutally by his inmates in Pak Jail. After
struggling for about a weak, Sarabjit passed away in Pak Hospital.
